All The Young

This is a band that I just can't get enough of right now. All The Young (formerly called 'New Education') is a four person indie rock band from the UK. The band have so far recorded two singles and more recently released a live set from a show in Glasgow, UK. They also opened up 2 nights of The Wombats tour in Liverpool. They are soon to be playing at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Their debut album, Welcome Home was released on 2 April 2012 and has been recorded by Garth Richardson and mixed by Rich Costey. It debuted and peaked at no. 41 on the UK Albums Chart.

Flora Cash

Where do I begin with this fresh, new pop-folk trio out of Stockholm, Sweden? They showed up on the scene virtually over night and they've been taking Europe by storm. Founded by Stockholm native: Daniel Westerlund, the prettiest voice this side of the Baltic: Shpresa Lleshaj and up and coming American folk artist: Cole Randall... Flora Cash couldn't have emerged at a more proper time. The group infuses 60's style folk with contemporary timbres, melodies and electronic accents to create a warm, thought provoking and vibrant cascade of harmony. This is clearly a group on a mission. My first impression of them live was: "where have these guys been all my life?" It was love at first site for this blogger. 'Inspired' is the best way I can describe the presence of these artists.
While these guys may bear some slight resemblance to the XX, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons or Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes: they are clearly in a class of their own. As of this writing, they have released 3 singles, toured around Sweden and other parts of Europe extensively but have not yet released their highly anticipated debut album. I was able to hear a nice chunk of their new album at the show I attended in Stockholm and believe me: there's plenty of substance there to anticipate. Of the tracks they've thus far released: I have to say that my favorite is; hands down, "Summerset." This track highlights the vocal harmonies happening between Cole Randall and Shpresa Lleshaj better than any of the others yet released and pulls hard on the heart strings. While not as upbeat as some of their other material, "Summerset" clearly has all the trappings of a timeless classic. I'd be surprised if this song isn't being played all over Europe (and the states for that matter) by the end of 2013.
Don't take my word for it! Check them out here: www.soundcloud.com/floracash
I'll be keeping close tabs on Flora Cash for as long as they decide to grace us with their talents.
(I hope they stick around a while!)
